You certainly are not a loser, a lot of us will take this as a good reminder to keep our heads up...I know I sure did while riding during lunch today. It's 90 F with 90% humidity in Cleveland today, but I wore a 3/4 helmet with face shield, a denim long sleeve shirt, long pants, leather gloves and steel toe mid-calf boots. Your note reminded me why I do. Almost the same scenario happened to me 2 weeks ago, only a SUV turned left in front of me when I looked away into the left lane and accelerated to pass. I'm damn lucky I locked the rear wheel, not the front, and was able to ride out the skid. About your wife's remark that the kids need a dad......yeah, they sure do. But, Dad needs some things too, and the release I get from riding is one of them. We all need to strike a balance. Completely deferring your own needs isn't good for you or them either.
